An Independent Publishing House
Hugged one second longer
Than our usual front seat farewells,
Subtly adding an extra squeeze
So you’d know how hard it was to leave.
Words are wasted far too much
By those overwhelmed with the wordless
And I was not about to risk
The truth sounding like a checklist.
Besides, you still weren’t ready
For such a revelation
Even if it’s already been revealed
In our little silent ways.
Of course, some say a sudden meteor
Ending everything
Might make us regret the phrase we regret
While waiting for the so-called proper time.
Well, we woke up another day
Which means there’s more space to convey
The take-it-or-leave-it breakthrough
That I love you.
